Mariano's golden opportunity

It is starting to look like Karim Benzema will require a miracle if he wants to play against Villarreal in Sunday's La Liga clash. In Friday's training session, the player had to train on the sidelines, and could not complete the training along with his teammates. 

Zidane will therefore have to look for an alternative, and the chosen one could be Mariano. In fact, the coach already brought him on for the last match against the Rayo.

It's not being an easy season for Mariano. In the 18 games he has played he has scored just two goals.

In spite of that, Mariano must be focused on these last clashes that are left for the season to come to an end. He has a golden opportunity to try and prove his potential.

Real Madrid have three duels still at play. Villarreal will be the next to pass through the Bernabéu and there is a lot at stake: the team is facing relegation. Zidane's team, on the other hand, will fight to win the remaining matches. Losing is not an option for the team.
