Anfield will increase its size and capacity for the 2022-23 season

Liverpool are planning to increase Anfield's capacity to 61,000 spectators for the start of the 2022-23. 

The English club have consulted business owners, fans and neighbours on the expansion plans and they got 800 answers. 

"The majority of them have been positive," the club confirmed. 

Anfield currently has a capacity of over 54,000 seats. With the expansion of the Anfield Road stand, an extra 5,200 seats are expected to be put in and another 1,800 for private boxes. 

There will be another public consultation during the month of February in which fans, neighbours and business owners will have the opportunity to get to know the following steps of the expansion first hand.
