Xanthi-Atromitos postponed due to COVID-19
Xanthi v Atromitos, one of the first games set to be played in Greece after the coronavirus pandemic, has had to be postponed due to the virus.
Atromitos announced that their game with Xanthi, which should have been played this Sunday, has been postponed due to the coronavirus.
"Health is the main concern for all those involved and a reasonable amount of time is required to draw conclusions from the results of the tests done in the Xanthi region," the Greek league said in a statement.
The Greek press reports that Atromitos asked for a "detailed and comprehensive report" of the situation in Xanthi to make sure everyone's health and safety can be guaranteed."
This Friday, at least seven new cases were registered in the northern region of Xanthi. It has a population of just 50,000.
