West Ham boss David Moyes sent Andy Carroll home from a training session after the two sparked a heated argument.

After Moyes made a triple substitution against Manchester City on Sunday and left Andy Carroll on the bench as an unused substitute, the forward was visibly frustrated with his manager.

The 29-year-old slunked off down the tunnel before the final whistle was blown. At the time, Moyes said: ''It's something I'll deal with. In this situation what you need is everybody to be a team member so if he has done that, I'll look at it and I'll deal with it.''

However, it would appears tensions boiled over in a training session on Monday, as Carroll was sent home after engaging in a war of words with Moyes.

According to 'Sky Sports News', Moyes ordered the England international to leave the training ground after the two had a furious bust-up over the events of Sunday's fixture.

It remains to be seen if Carroll will face further punishment for his actions.
