On this day four years ago, Real Madrid met Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final in Milan. It was the side's second meeting in two years after 'Los Blancos' won in Lisbon back in 2014.
Real Madrid took the lead through Sergio Ramos after 15 minutes despite being in an offside position. Mark Clattenburg's linesman missed the offside and Atletico's appeals fell on deaf ears. In the second half, Atletico Madrid were awarded a penalty after a foul by Pepe, but Antoine Griezmann struck the crossbar with it. Then, 11 minutes from time, Yannick Carrasco equalised for Atletico.
The game went to extra-time and after no goals, a penalty shootout decided the final. Real Madrid went first and after seven converted spot kicks, Juanfran hit the base of the post with Atleti's fourth. Cristiano Ronaldo then tucked away Real Madrid's fifth to give Zinedine Zidane's men their second Champions League in three seasons.
