Fede Valverde took centre stage in the semi-final against Barcelona, scoring the winning goal in extra-time to seal Real Madrid's place in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Real Madrid took on Barcelona in a Spanish Super Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Madrid took the lead after 25 minutes through Vinicius, but Luuk de Jong levelled four minutes before the break. In the second half in Riyadh, Karim Benzema put Madrid back ahead 18 minutes from time, but Ansu Fati levelled in the 83rd minute. The game went to extra-time and even though Barca started extra-time well, Real Madrid went 2-3 up thanks to Federico Valverde's 98th minute goal. Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid or Athletic Bilbao in Sunday's final at 19:30 CET. Those teams face off on Thursday night to decide the other finalist.
