The ideal XI is the following: Manuel Neuer (GER-Bayern Munich), Joshua Kimmich (GER-Bayern Munich), Sergio Ramos (ESP-Real Madrid), Virgil van Dijk (NED, Liverpool), Alphonso Davies (CAN-Bayern Munich), Thiago Alcántara (ESP-Bayern Munich/Liverpool), Kevin De Bruyne (BEL-Manchester City), Cristiano Ronaldo (POR-Juventus), Lionel Messi (ARG-Barcelona), Neymar (BRA-PSG) and Robert Lewandowski (POL-Bayern Munich).

Three players appear in the Ideal XI for the first time: Kimmich, Thiago Alcantara and Davies.

Seven clubs and nine different nationalities are represented in the XI. Spain and Germany have two players each.

The team includes five Bayern Munich players who won the 2019-20 Champions League including the UEFA player of the year Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker also won the double of league and cup with his club.

The 50 players nominated for both and the women's teams by UEFA were based on the performances of the players both in UEFA and domestic competitions in Europe between January and December 2020.
