Roma go into Wednesday's second leg against Liverpool having yet to concede a single goal at home in the Champions League this season, whilst Jurgen Klopp and co arrived having yet to lose in the competition. As incredible as those two runs of form are, you sense that only one of them will still be in tact come Thursday morning.

The hosts' imperious defensive record gives them a glimmer of hope for this one, having shut out and seen off Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona so far in the knockout stages.

The latter clean sheet was by far the most impressive, with Roma somehow denying the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez despite needing to take risks by throwing men forward.

In Alisson, the Romans have a goalkeeper who enjoying the best season of his career, whilst centre-back Kostas Manolas was the unlikely hero against Barcelona.

In the Group Stage, Roma stunned Chelsea to win 3-0 at the Olimpico, edged past Qarabag and held Atletico Madrid to a goalless draw as they topped Group C without conceding on home turf.

However, the best attack in the competition will be looking to end the run of shutouts on Wednesday night.

Eleven games into their European campaign and Liverpool are still yet to taste defeat, with the best any of Sevilla, Spartak Moscow, Maribor, Porto and Manchester City could do, each with two bites at the cherry, was claim a draw, before Roma were humbled at Anfield last week.

With that in mind it seems difficult to see the 'Reds' leaving the Italian capital empty-handed, particularly when you ocnsider that Liverpool have scored 18 in five games away from home in the competition and Roma must take risks if they are to reach the final.
