Barcelona have begun the season in fine form, but it hasn't stopped coach Ernesto Valverde from thinking about the future and ways to improve the squad next summer. As revealed by 'Fichajes.com', he has found four possible recruits in Germany.

This host of Barcelona targets share two common denominators. Youth is the first feature and talent is the second.

The most experienced player on the list is Bernd Leno, the Bayer Leverkusen keeper who has been a long-standing target for the Catalans. Together with Ter Stegen, he is Germany's future in goal once Manuel Neuer retires.

The team from Leverkusen have two more players wanted by the Barcelona boss. Benjamin Henrichs (20, defender) and Julian Brandt (21, winger), who has taken the Bundesliga by storm, complete the shortlist of candidates at Bayer.

The fourth on the list is Schalke 04 playmaker Max Meyer. Barcelona are fascinated by his great vision, his creative style and excellent decision-making. Still only 22, he has been called up by Germany and has a great future ahead... in Barcelona?
