He only played half an hour, but it was the most positive part of Groningen's fifth pre-season friendly. Arjen Robben has returned to football and promises to keep on fighting at 36.

Robben decided to hang up his boots just a year ago. The Dutch winger left Bayern, the club which he made history at, but his retirement was something temporal. He is now back!

Groningen will enjoy his play this season. Robben made his debut with the Eredivisie side on Saturday, who played against Almere City in their 5th pre-season friendly.

In June, because of his good shape and his love of the game, Robben decided to announce his return to the playing field. In his first match, it was agreed that he would play 31 minutes and he did.

He didn't shine as he accustomed us to, but the ex-Madrid and Bayern player, amongst others, continues to take shape to arrive for the official start of the Eredivisie in the best possible shape.
