Valencia's Simone Zaza made the rounds on Twitter after attempting a hilarious dive against Sevilla on Sunday. He chased after Franco Vazquez and headbutted the Sevilla player's elbow before going down and clutching his face.

Footballers are well known for their theatrics when it comes to diving. Whenever you ask a non-football fan or an older follower of the game about what's wrong with football, the answer will inevitably lead to them comparing players like Neymar or Ronaldo to ballerinas, and calling them drama queens.

However, Simone Zaza took it to the next level on Sunday, attempting one of the worst dives seen in professional football to date. In the 63rd minute of Valencia's La Liga game against Sevilla, the forward ran after Franco Vazquez, who had the ball, lowered his head so that it was at the level of the Sevilla player's arm, then threw his head at Vazquez's elbow.

He then fell to the ground clutching his head, and claiming a free-kick. The referee, unsurprisingly, wasn't having any of it, and told the player to get up and carry on playing. The ex-West Ham player was not shown a card for simulation however, and will face no retrospective action for the dive, with La Liga only set to start punishing players for this next season. I wonder what Roy Keane would have to say about it all...

Despite the incident, Valencia emerged victorious from the tie, winning 0-2, in a result that gives them an eleven point cushion over fifth placed Sevilla.
