The match between Leeds United and Brentford was marred by an unsavoury incident. Spanish footballer Sergi Canos of Brentford was struck by an object thrown by the home supporters. Even though it did not prove to be serious, the incident was picked up by the TV cameras.

Leeds United and Brentford drew 2-2 in a Premier League match on Sunday, but there were some unacceptable scenes after Sergi Canos had scored for the away side

The Spanish player was the man who made it 1-2. In other words, that gave Brentford the lead after coming from behind. The Bees went to celebrate close to the home fans, something which they took exception to.

TV cameras spotted an object come down from the stands and it struck a Brentford player, who went down on the floor.

But it was not serious. Some players argued with the spectators while others went to tell the referee, but the Brentford player was perfectly fine to continue.
