Nine hours there and nine hours back. Rubin Kazan suffered an 18-hour trip to get knocked out by SKA-Khabarovsk through a Ramazan Gadzhimuradov goal.

In Russia, the country with the biggest landmass in the world, it's normal that teams have to undertake big journies even to play a domestic match. Such as the Russian Cup for example.

Rubin Kazan, who not too many years ago used to travel around the Old Continent to take on the likes of Barcelona and Inter Milan, among others, in the Champions League, experienced a similar situation against SKA-Khabarovsk.

Leonid Slutski's men suffered- you can't call it anything else- a 9 hour journey to face the Russian Second Division side and lose 1-0 through a Ramazan Gadzhimuradov.

And what waits for Rubin Kazan now? Well, another 9 hours to return home. A total of 18 hours on a plane to be knocked out the Russian Cup from a team in a lower league.
