Aston Villa confirmed on Monday that Rory Wilson and Lamare Bogarde have both renewed their contracts with the club, extending their stays with the Birmingham side beyond the current season.

Aston Villa announced the renewal of Scottish striker Rory Wilson, who penned a two-year contract to extend his stay until June 2027, and followed it up on the same day with that of Dutch defender Lamare Bogarde.

Wilson signed his new deal after his previous one was due to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, with his contract also including an option for a further 12 months. The 19-year-old youth player favoured the Birmingham side despite having several suitors around Europe prepared to provide him a place in their respective first-teams.

"Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Rory Wilson has signed a new contract with the club," reads a statement from the club. "The highly-rated Scotland youth international has been a regular fixture for the Under-21s this season, including during the UEFA Youth League campaign, where he scored against Young Boys. He put pen to paper on his first professional deal with Villa, having joined as a scholar from Glasgow Rangers."

Bogarde had already signed a new contract with Villa back in August, but was handed a new offer thanks to his progress in recent months. The 21-year-old has been consistently included in Unai Emery's matchday squads this season, making 16 appearances across all competitions and showcasing his versatility by playing in multiple roles.

"Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Lamare Bogarde has signed a new contract with the club," reads a statement from the club. "The Dutch Under-21 international has been a regular in matchday squads for Villa this term, making 16 appearances in all competitions, including four in the Champions League. A versatile player, capable of playing in defence and in midfield, Bogarde joined the club in the summer of 2020 from Feyenoord and has previously spent time on loan with Bristol Rovers."
