The Groningen player was all smiles after feeling like a football player once again for Groningen against Heerenveen: "It's the reward for not giving up and working hard."

Arjen Robben was one of the top stories in European football this weekend. Five months after coming to terms with his forced temporary retirement due to physical problems, the player returned with Groningen against Heerenveen.

The winger came on with less than ten minutes remaining, a match in which his side lost 0-2 against Heerenveen.

At 37 years old, the player put his kit on once again after a frustrating return to the campaign, when he was forced to stop playing due to continued physical problems.

"It's the reward for not giving up and working hard", admitted a smiling Arjen Robben after the conclusion of the clash, eager to be able continue helping his boyhood club.

When questioned about his retirement, the player recognised the need to keep an eye on his physical state day by day, before making a decision looking towards next season. In his return he created two chances for his teammates, although without much luck.
