Spanish tennis superstar Rafa Nadal has admitted that he would be delighted if, following his retirement, he could one day become president of the Real Madrid football club.

While his uncle Miguel Angel Nadal, now a retired footballer, once played for Barcelona, the former tennis world no.1 is known for his deep affection for ‘Los Blancos’ and is often seen in the VIP seats at Bernabeu stadium.

“If you ask me if I would like it, of course I would, why not? But there is more to it,” Nadal said during a marketing event in Spain.

“We [Real Madrid] are very good as we are.

“We have a great president right now [Florentino Perez] and I don't think Real Madrid need me, but we never know what can happen in the future.”
