Barcelona lost 'El Clasico' in Valdebebas and the result made Barca incredibly angry. Proof of that was Gerard Pique's reaction. He was on the bench and he did not get any game time. After the final whistle, he approached the referee and seemed to be very angry about the lack of added time.

Pique was far from happy at full time. The Barca defender went to confront referee Jesus Gil Manzano for only adding four minutes on in the second half when he felt there should have been more.

Barcelona felt that they had Real Madrid on the ropes in the closing stages and they had an extra man because of Casemiro's red card.

Pique, after the final whistle, went onto the pitch (he was an unused substitute) and he red towards Gil Manzano. The Barca delegate, Carlos Naval, tried to stop him and calm him down, but the central defender was overcome with rage.

He felt that four minutes of added time was nowhere near enough. The match was stopped for a considerable period of time when the referee had to replace the communication equipment which linked him up with the rest of the officiating team.

As well as the technology failure, there was also the red card to Casemiro and several substitutions. Real Madrid were on the back foot towards the end and they were desperate for full time. Ilaix hit the crossbar for the Catalans and an equaliser was just around the corner.

Pique's complaints obviously made no difference and in the end, he walked away from the scene and towards the dressing rooms.
