Former France international Sidney Govou has lauded PSG youngster Kylian Mbappe, with the former Lyon man not hesitating to mention the teenager in the same breath as legends Zinedine Zidane and Thierry Henry.

Mbappe became the talk of most of Europe after his incredible campaign last season, which was quickly followed up by a huge move to PSG this summer.

In an interview with French publication 'Le Parisien', Govou compared the 18-year-old's ability and potential to that of his former 'Les Bleus' team-mates: "From what I've seen so far, only Henry and Zidane were better than Mbappe. I've never seen anyone else better."

"He is capable of incredible things, he's unpredictable, fantastic," explained the 38-year-old.

The 49-time France international also took the opportunity to send a message to France boss Didier Deschamps, telling him to ensure that he does all he can to get the best out of Mbappe.

"If he wants to be the first name on the teamsheet for France he needs games. If I were the manager, he would start every game and I would build my attack around him," Govou told the newspaper.

Finally, he ended by insisting that Mbappe could go on to achieve more in the game than the likes of Karim Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa, who also shone during their formative years.

"Obviously I saw Karim and Ben Arfa breakthrough, who were also supremely talented, but Mbappe is the sort of striker that I like; lively and fast," he concluded.

Should Mbappe go on to emulate the achievements of Zidane and Henry, France fans everywhere would rejoice.

Most players would be happy with a career like that of Govou, who won seven Ligue 1 titles and a World Cup.
