Kayden Jackson has signed for Ipswich Town for a fee in the region of £1m.
The 24-year-old striker had attracted interest from a number of Championship clubs but has opted to join Paul Hurst's Ipswich side on a three-year deal with an option of an additional year, in what is a record sale for Accrington.
Jackson helped Accrington to the League Two title last season with 16 goals and is Ipswich's ninth signing of the summer.
Jackson told the club's website: “There were a few offers from other clubs but once I knew Ipswich wanted me, that was it. I just wanted it to happen.
"I enjoyed working with the gaffer and Doigy [Chris Doig, assistant manager] at Grimsby and to have the chance to work with them again, it was a no-brainer for me.
"It has not been an easy few weeks with all the speculation going on but I took it as a confidence booster that other clubs wanted me.
“I just concentrated on what I could control and just hoped it would get done and now it is, I’m delighted. It’s unbelievable.
“I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level possible and I’ve got the chance now to play in the Championship with Ipswich. I’ve got to take it with both hands.”
Jackson has signed a three-year deal at Portman Road.
