Lazio defeated 3-2 Mourinho's Roma in the first Roman derby of the season. The 'special one' blamed the referee and the VAR room.

The Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, complained about the referee and VAR room, as according to him, they were "not up to the challenge". Roma lost 3-2 against city-rivals Lazio.

"Italian football has improved a lot in terms of skill, offensive plays and desire to perform. The game was fantastic, but unfortunately, the referee and the VAR were not up for the challenge. You talk about a play on Lazio's second goal, this mistake could have meant that instad of going to 2-0 down, we could have gone 1-1. The referee failed on the pitch and the VAR also failed", said in the post-match press conference.

"They both failed and that is just too much. Leiva's second yellow could have been important because it is not the same to play against 10", he claimed.

Roma lost 2-3, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Pedro Rodriguez and Felipe Anderson scored Lazio's goals. Roger Ibañez and Veretout scored foir Roma.

"I side with my players, I believe we were the better team out there. It is obvious that when you concede three something was wrong, but we played great and we have given it all", he stated.
