Aleksandar Mitrovic had the opportunity to score a goal against Newcastle. However, the Fulham slipped as he struck the penalty, touched the ball twice before the ball went into the goal and the referee had to disallow the goal.

In the Premier League, Newcastle beat Fulham 1-0 and moved up to third in the table. Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute.

The Magpies had to work very hard to get the win against the visitors, who remain sixth despite the defeat.

The away side had a superb opportunity to score. In the 69th minute, the referee gave a penalty to Fulham and Serbian striker Aleksandr Mitrovic was the man to take it.

However, the striker slipped when he took it and he touched the ball twice, once with each foot, before the ball went in the goal. The referee had no option but to disallow the goal

The rule is clear in this aspect and it states that the penalty taker cannot touch the ball twice without anyone else touching it or it will be an indirect free-kick to the defending team.
