Arsenal have taken a huge step towards signing the Gabonese hitman as they look to replace Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean striker is set to leave the Emirates in the coming days and the Gunners have already began their plans to bolster their forward line.

According to 'Mirror', Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has already agreed personal terms with the north London outfit, with the striker determined to force through a move to the Premier League.

Having banished Aubameyang from the team for disciplinary reasons at the weekend, the ball is now in Borussia Dortmund's court.

After months of speculation, the 28-year-old has taken his first steps towards departing the Bundesliga with Arsenal's offer, thought to be in the region of £53million, yet to be accepted by Dortmund.

Aubameyang's situation at the club had become untenable after his third internal suspension in 12 months, an aspect that was cause for concern for Arsene Wenger, and the Germans will now have to scour the market in search of a centre-forward to fill the void.

Dortmund could opt to retain Aubameyang, but the circumstances point towards the contrary with the financial return likely to persuade the Bundesliga side.
