Lionel Messi returned to the Argentina side, but did it in the worst possible way: with a defeat. The Argentinian striker could not do anything to get a positive result against Venezuela and social media spoke about the difference in quality between Argentina and Barcelona.

It seems like the figure of Leo Messi changes completely depending on what shirt he was wearing. With Barcelona he pulls off exhibition after exhibition, but for Argentina he is criticised for not shining so much... Could it be to do with his teammates?

Social media compared an attack which occurred this Friday in the closing stages of the game against Venezuela with a move for Barcelona in their league game against Betis at the Benito Villamarín. Both are to do with heel flicks with Luis Suárez and Dario Benedetto the players involved.

The Uruguayan's flick was an amazing assist in the match in Seville. Suarez, entering into the D, saw that Leo was getting away from his marker and he delivered an unpredictable pass which ended up in a goal for the Argentine.

On the flip side, we have the gaffe by Dario Benedetto. Leo's teammate for Argentina had the ball in a very similar position to Suarez and Messi was also getting away from his marker. He tried it with a heel flick, but the result was disastrous, since he did not end up putting enough power on the ball and it ended up going to the defender's feet.

Leo could be seen showing frustration after Benedetto's error whereas in the move with Suárez, he ended up celebrating a goal. The difference between Argentina and Barcelona remains plain to see.
