The Argentine hotshot has a double mission at the Estadio Gran Canaria: score to beat Las Palmas and also to practically sentence the race for the Golden Boot.

Leo Messi has scored 35 goals in La Liga, which adds up to 70 points according to the coefficient of two points per goal awarded to the Spanish league. He is firmly in the lead to becoming Europe's top goalscorer once again.

Bas Dost, the second on the list, wasted an opportunity to close in on the Argentine after failing to score in the match between Sporting and Feirense. He has managed 31 goals in the Portuguese Liga, with only one more fixture left to play.

It is unlikely that the Dutch forward will net five times in the final match of the season, while also needing Messi to fail to score against Las Palmas and Eibar.

If the Barcelona man gets a goal at Las Palmas, he will virtually end the race for the Golden Boot. In order to win the award for the fourth time, he will look to find the net at the only La Liga stadium he has never scored.
