Lionel Messi showed his temper at the Nou Camp on Sunday night as he argued with the referee before refusing to shake his hand following a 2-2 draw for Barcelona with Girona.
The Argentine was furious that Jesus Gil Manzano had made the decision to send off teammate Clement Lenglet.
The expulsion occurred in the 35th minute, leaving Barcelona a mountain to climb.
In the end, they rescued a 2-2 draw thanks to Gerard Pique's second half goal.
Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde backed up his star player, questioning the decision.
"It handicapped us, we had bad luck to concede just before the end of the first half. We couldn't come back," he said.
"I haven't seen the incident on the television, there's a clear collision and it seems that there's an elbow. It's the first sending off where the player fouled apologises."
