Manchester United have reportedly taken the first step towards a potential deal for Chelsea's Christopher Nkunku, with the French international said to be exploring his options ahead of the new season.
Nkunku, 27, endured a frustrating debut campaign in London, having struggled to secure regular playing time under Enzo Maresca. Though under contract until 2029, the forward is understood to be open to a move away this summer in search of more consistent opportunities.
According to French outlet L'Equipe, Manchester United have made initial contact with the player's inner circle to gauge interest in a possible move to Old Trafford. However, they have yet to approach Chelsea directly or submit a formal bid.
It's believed that the Blues may be willing to listen to offers, should they decide to reshape their attacking options.
United boss Ruben Amorim is thought to be prioritising reinforcements in attack, with the striker emerging as a potential target.
