Real Madrid have published their list of 22 players called up for the visit of Villarreal to the Santiago Bernabeu (Saturday, 9pm CEST). Carlo Ancelotti will be without Dani Carvajal, Marcelo, Ferland Mendy, Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos and Gareth Bale.
It is a delicate time for Real Madrid in terms of injuries. There are six players in the infirmary and Ancelotti will have to make readjustments once again, especially in a defensive line that is in a critical state.
The back line is undoubtedly the area of the pitch with the most problems. Carvajal, Marcelo and Mendy are injured, so Nacho and Miguel will have to repeat in the back two. Militao and Alaba, the centre-backs.
On the other hand, Kroos, who was not included in the squad, completed the recovery phase on Friday from the pubalgia that has prevented him from playing minutes this season and finished the week integrated into the group in the last training session prior to this match.
Mendy also worked on the pitch with a recovery trainer and inside the facilities, where the injured Dani Carvajal, Marcelo, Dani Ceballos and Gareth Bale remained. The same team that will have to pull the cart against Mallorca.
