Arsenal goalkeeper Bern Leno has been handed a Germany call-up for their upcoming UEFA Nations League games against the Netherlands and France.

Leno replaces the injured Kevin Trapp, who has been forced to withdraw due to a muscle problem.

Former Bayer Levekusen stopper Leno initially struggled to break into the side following his summer move to the Emirates, but has started Arsenal's last five games after Petr Cech went down with a hamstring injury.

Despite still being only 26, Leno has considerable experience, having made over 200 Bundesliga appearances and a half century of European outings during his time with 'Die Werkself', to go with his six caps for his country.

Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka has also been forced to withdraw, with club team-mate Serge Gnabry replacing him in the squad.

'Die Mannschaft' claimed a 0-0 draw at home to world champions France last month, but now face tricky trips to Amsterdam and Paris as they look to take control of their Nations League group.
