If Barcelona want Sevilla centre-back Clement Lenglet, not only will they have to convince his current club to let him go but they will have to meet the player's demands too.

Speculation has been rising about a possible summer switch for Lenglet, with Barcelona tipped as the final destination. Even Sevilla head coach Vincenzo Montella has said that his centre-back is "good enough" to play for 'Los Cules'.

However, like any 23-year-old, Lenglet wants guaranteed playing time, especially as he looks to cement his status among the defensive elite and his spot in the French national team

The Sevilla defender has proved this season that he is mature beyond his tender years and won't be swept into making a big-money move unless it was right for his football career.

Lenglet has already allegedly said 'no' to Juventus, not content with being a back-up to Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Daniele Rugani, and many other potential suitors across Europe have faced similar rejection

According to 'Sport', the youngster is not asking for a guaranteed starting place in every match but to have a significant upperhand in competing for it. One which could be hard to achieve with Barcelona given the prestige of Gerard Pique and the competition from Samuel Umtiti, Thomas Vermaelen and Yerry Mina

Lenglet's contract with Sevilla runs out on June 30, 2021, but with a release clause of €45 million, it is a tempting prospect for the Catalan club, especially given the inflated transfer prices in recent windows. Barca now though, need to convince the player that his place is at the Camp Nou.
