"After various tests with the technical teams of PSG and also France, I took the decision not to play in the World Cup," Kimpembe said in the statement. "As many know, I am always ready to fight for the national team and to represent my country, it is a great pride to have the opportunity to play again in the most prestigious competition," he added.
Finally, the centre-back, who played last Sunday, gave his reasons for not being at Qatar 2022. "Unfortunately, my health comes first and the latest tests have shown that I won't be able to guarantee a 200% performance, and I don't want to destabilise the group.
