West Ham playmaker Manuel Lanzini has showed his improvements in a solo gym session, as he closes in on a return to action following a anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.

The Argentina star was ruled out of his country's World Cup squad after he ruptured the ligament in a training session with the national team.

The 25-year-old midfielder will likely not be back in first-team action until January 2019.

However, a post on Lanzini's instagram account may suggest improvements are taking place, with the player filmed performing exercises in the gym and looking more comfortable.

Manuel Pellegrini will look forward to Lanzini's return to the side, with the Argentine having scored 20 'Hammers' goals in 99 Premier League matches since joining in 2015.
