The Spanish national football team has shared this Friday its list of numbers for this Nations League break with a key novelty. Lamine Yamal will be the new number 10, inherited from the absent Dani Olmo, and will wear it in the matches against Denmark and Serbia.

Lamine Yamal will wear the number 10 jersey for the first time for the Spanish national team in the matches against Denmark and Serbia in the Nations League, to be played in Murcia and Cordoba respectively.

The player from Esplugues de Llobregat is leaving behind the ‘19’ with which he won the title and won the award for Best Young Player at the European Championship. At just 17, he scored a goal, the one that started the comeback against France, and provided four assists in Germany. An influential performance that has continued with Barca, where he has five goals and five assists in 11 games.

It has to be said that this change is due to the absence of Dani Olmo, who until now had held one of the most emblematic numbers in football. The Barca playmaker is still recovering from a femoral biceps injury and was unable to make Luis de la Fuente's squad.

However, it is significant that the ‘10’ has gone to the back of Lamine Yamal. Meanwhile, the ‘19’ that he had been wearing will be worn by Sergio Gomez, who may make his debut in this window with the senior national team. In addition, the ‘2’ that Dani Carvajal had been wearing has gone to Pedro Porro.

With so many injuries, the rotation of numbers is considerable. In addition to the Carvajal-Porro change, Alex Grimaldo will have the ‘3’ of Robin Le Normand and Bryan Zaragoza, the ‘11’ of Ferran Torres. Pau Cubarsi chose the ‘15’ and Mikel Merino returns after overcoming his injury with the usual ‘6’.
