Fortaleza announced the renewal of their coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda for the next two years. The Argentine coach refused to join Corinthians, Vasco de Gama and Atletico Mineiro.

Argentine coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda renewed his contract with Fortaleza for two years, despite being wanted by Corinthians, Vasco da Gama and Atletico Mineiro.

"Brazil's most coveted and beloved Argentine is staying," his team announced. Since arriving in Fortaleza in 2021, Vojvoda turned the team into one of the strongest in the Brazilian League, to the point of taking them to the Copa Libertadores for the first time that same year, with a guaranteed place in the next edition of the regional tournament.

In 2021, they finished in fourth place, the best position in their 104-year history. This season they finished eighth, which also earned them a place in the next Libertadores. Since Vojvoda's arrival, Fortaleza have played 121 matches, winning 58, drawing 29 and losing 34, and won two regional titles.

The 47-year-old Argentine coach began his coaching career in the helm of Newell's Old Boys' youth teams in 2015, before moving on to coach the first team at Defensa y Justicia two years later. He went on to coach Argentinian side Talleres and Union La Calera, who he left in May 2021 to join his current club.
