While facing pressure from Kelechi Iheanacho, the Liverpool goalkeeper decided to attempt a Cruyff turn in the box and ended up being tackled by the Nigerian striker. Leicester then scored through Rachid Ghezzal.

Alisson conceded his first goal for Liverpool in a calamitous fashion, and the former Liverpool players are far from impressed.

Jamie Redknapp told 'Sky Sports': "It's the worst Cruyff turn I think I've ever seen. That from Virgil van Dijk, he's given him a bad ball back but he had an opportunity to boot the ball up the line.

"Instead he tries to do a trick that is just not on to do. There's a reason why he wears a yellow jersey, because he's a goalkeeper and that's why he plays in goal because he's not good with his feet," he added.

"Just clear it, get it away and ask questions later. That is not good enough and it's been coming.

"I want the keeper to play from the back because it's an important part of the game but not tricks.

"All you're doing is getting the crowd going and giving Leicester something to go on. It's not good enough," he said.

Former Liverpool centre-back Jamie Carragher would also prefer the Liverpool goalkeeper to take fewer risks.

"'All he had to do was clear it", he also told 'Sky Sports'.

"Last week at Anfield there were a few cheers when he came out and chipped the ball over the attacking player.

"That wasn't good last week and it is even worse today.

"He should have been told after last week. He got away with it then but you don't want your goalkeeper doing that", he stated.
