Fiorentina and Italy defender Manuel Pasqual has been ruled out of action for at least three weeks after being diagnosed with a calf strain.

Viola captain Pasqual, who suffered the injury in Fiorentina's 2-0 win over Bologna on Wednesday, is set to miss Sunday's San Siro clash with Serie A leaders Inter Milan as well as key upcoming games against Napoli and Roma.

He is also expected to be ruled out of selection for Italy's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Norway.

Fiorentina's fourth win of the fledgling season took Paulo Sousa's side to second in the league only three points behind early pacesetters Inter.

Champions Juventus sit in 13th place at a further seven points adrift.
