Valencia, currently at Liga de Quito, played at United with the now Tottenham coach. The Ecuadorian played at Old Trafford for ten years and has some negative memories for some of them.
During the two and a half seasons that Mou was coach there (2016-2018), the coach had to put up with some criticism, especially in the final stage of his time there.
Valencia ended up liking one of those fans complaints on Instagram: "We are clear. I made a mistake. I was on Instagram and pressed the 'like' button on a fans comment."
"I didn't realise what was written there. Jose is intelligent. It was nothing. I talked to him, I apologised and it was sorted. He told me that there was no problem," he added.
Moreover, he had some good words to say about the Spurs coach: "He made me captain. I couldn't believe that I was having the opportunity to be captain at a club like Manchester United. I was immensely happy to take on that responsibility".
"We spoke openly, I wanted to know if the players needed anything, how they felt. We had a fantastic relationship," he concluded.
