The match between Zenit St Petersburg and Spartak Moscow was overshadowed by a shocking fight. Most of the players ended up getting involved in a fight and six players saw red.

Three red cards per team, little football and a match to forget. The Russian Cup, which is being played during the World Cup in Qatar, was a nightmare and it ended with a shocking fight on the pitch.

The controversy involving Zenit and Spartak Moscow, which has been mentioned all over the world, started after Quincy Promes and Wendel went head to head and pushed each other. After that, other players got involved and all hell broke loose.

Six footballers were sent off: Malcom, Rodrigao and Barrios (Zenit) and Sobelev, Selikhov and Nicholson (Spartak). Images keep appearing of more acts of violent conduct as time goes by.

Zenit ended up winning 4-2 on penalties to reach the next round after a goalless 90 minutes.
