Eden Hazard has told the 'Sun' how he told compatriot Romelu Lukaku to stop hiding during Belgium's opening World Cup game against Panama.

The 'Red Devils' would record a staggering 3-0 win on Monday but the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story of the match.

The first half was extremely laboured with Lukaku struggling to get involved in play against a physically robust Panama side.

However, in the second he went more on the offensive, scoring two goals, and Hazard believes his team-talk was vital to that change.

He said: "I told Romelu at half-time that we needed him. He was hiding away on his own up front in the first half.

"Once he got involved in the game, as if by magic, he scored two goals. I hope he will understand.

"He didn't have a bad game. He scored twice, so everyone is happy. It is good for his confidence.

"But I want him to try to get more involved in the game, especially during the first half - as we know what he can do.

"Even though we have good players, it isn't easy for us to play with a man short".

Belgium next face Tunisia on Saturday.
