Pep Guardiola has revealed what he told a young ball boy in the 5-0 thumping of Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Manchester City top the Premier League table after another ruthless display at the Etihad.

However, there was one moment during the clash with Palace that left many scratching their heads: What did Guardiola tell the ball boy?

Finally, we have an answer. The Spanish tactician himself revealed in a press conference that he said:

'There was five, ten seconds before someone goes to take the ball and start to play. When this happens everything is slow.

'So the ball boys were slow, everybody was slow. And we have to create in the game, to provoke the game. And we didn't for most of the time in the first half.'

'In the second half, you could see immediately that the team was ready,' Guardiola added.

The increase in tempo certainly helped Guardiola's side, as they went on to rocket five past the struggling Crystal Palace.
