According to 'the Athletic', Robin van Persie is set to be appointed as new Feyenoord head coach, replacing Pascal Bosschaart, who has been leading the club on an interim basis following Brian Priske's sacking.

Robin van Persie is set to be appointed as new Feyenoord manager after reports have emerged that the former striker is ready to pen a two-year contract that will see him take charge of the club until June 2027, as per 'the Athletic'.

According to the same report Feyenoord an agreement has already been reached with Heerenveen, the club that Van Persie is currently managing, with only formal steps remaining before the deal is finalised.

The 41-year-old will therefore replace Pascal Bosschaart, who has been leading the club on an interim basis following Brian Priske's sacking earlier this month, to begin his second managerial experience as he leaves Heerenveen 9th in the Eredivisie standings.

Van Persie has previously trained Feyenoord's youth teams and was part of the coaching staff before that. Although he is known for his time in England, Van Persie started and finished his playing career at Feyenoord, scoring 46 goals in 122 games across two spells at De Kuip.
