Whilst the transfer window may have closed in England it remains very much open in Spain, with Real Madrid reportedly set to test Chelsea's resolve with a mega-money bid for Eden Hazard.

'Los Blancos' are refusing to give up in their pursuit of the Belgian, despite Maurizio Sarri being desperate to keep his star man in the English capital this summer.

"Hazard is happy to stay at Chelsea," the Italian insisted this week, with reports linking him with a move having died down in recent days.

However, both 'The Times' and 'The Express' have now revived those rumous, with the former reporting that Madrid are prepared to offer Hazard €17m per year and the latter claiming the the Spanish side are in the process of putting together a €220m bid for the player.

After finally securing the capture of Thibaut Courtois, Madrid will not stop until they can add his compatriot to their ranks, with there still over two weeks remaining of the transfer window for non-English sides.

The aforementioned source claims that Chelsea will pull out all the stops to keep the former Lille man, particularly given their inability to bring in a replacement.

Hazard is known to be keen on the switch, having regularly voiced his desire to play for the Spanish giants over the course of his career to date.

Real Madrid chiefs are expected to meet this week to put the final touches to the offer as they attempt to convince Chelsea to allow another of their start to make the move to the Bernabeu.
