Thibaut Courtois does not plan to leave Real Madrid. In fact, according to Marca, the keeper has been told he will be staying. His idea is to don the number 13 jersey, a number he cannot wear this season due to the fact that Kiko Casilla currently wears it.
When Courtois arrived at Real Madrid, Kiko Casilla was still a part of the Real Madrid squad. His number? 13.
But now Casilla has moved to England and is currently in goal for Leeds United, a club he signed for 4 seasons for.
So then the number 13 jersey is available. Courtois plans on wearing it next season, and according to Marca he will be wearing number 13 next season.
Much has been made of the future of Courtois, with Zidane seemingly preferring Kaylor Navas instead of the Belgian. Courtois however has a clear idea of where he intends to be next season, at Real Madrid.
Whether he is the outright first choice or it is Keylor Navas remains to be seen, but Courtois is after his number, one that the superstitious keepers avoid, but Courtois has always worn it, both at Atletico and Chelsea.
Currently Courtois is wearing the number 25 jersey. Even if Navas does leave and vacates the number 1 jersey, Courtois will still want the number 13 one, that is his jersey and he wants to have the number 13 on his back next season.
