According to 'Marca', the South American confederations proposed to FIFA a 25 minute half-time for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana finals. This was proposed at FIFA's latest council meeting, but has little chance of being approved.

The FIFA council meeting on 27th October will discuss an interesting proposal from CONMEBOL. They want a 25 minute half-time for their two club finals instead of 15 so that they can make a half-time show with music and entertainment like in the Super Bowl.

Although initial reaction to the news was negative, it will be debated at the next FIFA Council meeting as well as other proposal sent to FIFA.

'Marca' says it for marketing reasons and so CONMEBOL can organise a half-time show as done in American Football's Super Bowl.

Although the measure may be tested in small events, it is unlikely to be approved.
