Casillas' number 1 is left without an owner at Porto

No player, especially the goalkeepers, has wanted to carry the number '1' that Iker Casillas left free in his forced retirement until he recovers. Does this mean that he will come back?

Portugal has been left without its number one. Literally. Nobody has wanted to take over from Casillas in the presentation of the team's numbers.

All goalkeepers have already selected the number they will wear during the new season and none of them want the responsibility.

Leaving out the group of goalkeepers, it is rare that the rest of the outfield players wear the '1'. In fact, in the presentations that have been carried out for the new Porto signings, no player has dared to take it.

This opens the door to justified question: did they not take the number in case Casillas returns? Or is it just as a sign of respect for the player? At first, it looked like the Spaniard was out indefinitely, but it could turn out that his return is closer than expected.
