Boulaye Dia refused to play in Salernitana's match against Udinese and, according to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', the Italian club are not sitting back. They are asking the player for €20 million in damages and are also asking for his salary to be halved.

Forward Boulaye Dia went into rebellion in Salernitana's match against Udinese. He refused to come onto the pitch from the bench and the team had to play half an hour with a man down.

Salernitana will not tolerate his attitude and, according to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', intend to punish the former Villarreal player severely. They will demand 20 million euros in damages from the centre-forward. However, it will be up to the courts to decide whether or not Dia will have to pay these damages.

The club is asking Boulaye Dia for exactly the same amount they paid Villarreal for him. They consider that it made a strong economic bet for him and the footballer pays for it with this disdain.

While justice has its final say, Salernitana have cut his salary by half. By the end of the season, he will receive 50% less.

Fabio Liverani has already given Dia a public slap on the wrist, which will be accompanied by a cut in his emoluments. "He made a choice that we will take into account. I think his choice is final and the problem is not for me, but for his colleagues. I don't think it's fair to say he's already out of the squad."
