Football can be really unpredictable sometimes. So much so that a player who scores 25 straight penalties can then miss two on the same night.
That happened to Sergio Ramos in Switzerland. Spain were losing 1-0 when the Real Madrid central defender saw a penalty saved by Sommer in the second half. But it would not be the only one.
23 minutes later, in the 80th minute, Morata went down in the box, a foul which also saw Elvedi sent off for a second yellow. Ramos once again wanted to take responsibility.
But it was not Ramos' night. The central defender hit a terrible second penalty. Some think it was a poor effort at a Panenka while others said it was simply a poor finish. In any case, Sommer saved it and Switzerland were still 1-0 up.
