With some cracking league fixtures during the weekend's results in Spain, we select the eleven players who stood out the most.

GK: Sergio Asenjo (Villarreal)

He was one of the protagonists as 'El Submarino Amarillo' secured an away draw to Sevilla, stopping a penality from Nolito to bring his tally for the season up to three.

CB: Damian Suarez (Getafe)

The defender was given space to attack at the weekend and came up with the goods for the La Liga outfit, scoring the winning goal against Espanyol.

CB: Gerard Pique (Barcelona)

There may still have been open wounds from the defeat to Roma but Pique showed his class at the weekend for 'Los Cules', helping to spare team-mate Samuel Umtiti's blushes by preventing a Valencia goal crossing the line.

CB: Lucas Hernandez (Atletico Madrid)

The France international showed his worth to Diego Simeone, not only keeping Ivi and Jason quiet for Levante but also offering an attacking outlet.

CM: Steven N'Zonzi (Sevilla)

Trusted with pulling the heart and strings of Sevilla, N'Zonzi was pivotal in Sevilla's draw with Villarreal at the weekend, scoring the important equaliser.

CM: Isco (Real Madrid)

The Spanish midfielder returned to his former club Malaga for the 11th time in his career and finally broke his duck, curling home an exquisite free-kick whilst providing the assist for Madrid's second goal in their 2-1 victory.

CM: Philippe Coutinho (Barcelona)

The former Liverpool player showed Ernesto Valverde and the Barca board why they invested so much money in him, embodying Andres Iniesta with two vital assists. The first giving Luis Suarez to open the scoring against Valencia.

LW: Angel Correa (Atletico Madrid)

The Argentine played one of his best matches in an Atletico shirt, scoring the club's opening goal of their 3-0 victory over Levante before providing the assist for the third.

RW: Joaquin (Real Betis)

Despite being 36 years old, the winger made a dazzling 50-yard run against Girona that led to Loren Moron's goal.

F: Luis Suarez (Barcelona)

If Lionel Messi isn't scoring in the league, the Uruguayan striker is there to Barca's rescue, opening the scoring to Valencia in their 2-1 victory.

F: Adrian Lopez (Deportivo)

The on-loan striker secured his second brace of the season as Clarence Seedorf's side clung on to a 3-2 victory over Athletic Bilbao.
