The Norwegian international is alleged to have struck Bristol City's Marlon Pack in Hull's 2-1 victory.
The incident was missed by officials and now Diomande may face a ban if found guilty.
"It is alleged that Diomande's behaviour in or around the 90th minute of the fixture constitutes violent conduct," an FA statement read.
