Amorim confirmed Zirkzee’s absence for crucial Europa League clash against Lyon

Manchester United face Thursday's crucial Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon without Joshua Zirkzee. The striker is ruled out with a hamstring injury suffered in Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United.
Red Devils boss Amorim confirmed the news in his post-match interview, describing the injury as a major setback for the team. “Josh, I think he will be out for some games. It’s clear he won’t play against Lyon, so let’s focus on the next one,” Amorim said.
The Dutch forward had been in fine form recently, scoring key goals in both legs of United’s previous knockout ties. His absence leaves Rasmus Hojlund as the only fit striker available for selection.
Amorim acknowledged the challenge ahead: “We had to make rotation because we are trying to recover in two days from each game, but trying to win this game also.”
The tie at Old Trafford will be key to making up for Manchester United's poor season in the Premier League as well as being the only chance of playing in European competition next year.
