The Brazilian picked up the injury earlier in the season, while playing for PSG in a game against Les Herbiers, and it ruled him out of Brazil's World Cup campaign. He has the whole summer to recuperate, though, and he has now undergone surgery that will speed up his recovery.
The club announced that Alves had successfully been operated on on Tuesday:
"Dani Alves has had his right knee operated on today by the orthopedic surgeons at the Pitié Salpetriere in Paris. A delay was respected before the surgery in order to allow a surgical technique which should allow his period of unavailability to be reduced as much as possible."

The defender has recently been at the centre of rumours surrounding a summer clearout at the club, with some outlets claiming that new boss Thomas Tuchel isn't happy with the full-backs at his disposal, however it isn't hugely likely that the Brazilian will move during his recovery period.
